Place2Be
Place2Be is a children's mental health charity with over 25 years' experience working with pupils, families and staff in UK schools to improve the emotional wellbeing of young people. We provide support through one-to-one and group counselling using tried and tested methods backed by research. We support young people's emotional development by offering them a safe space where they can express their feelings through talking, creative work and therapeutic play.
This service is set up as follows:
Place2Be, a dedicated 45-minute weekly counselling service (access is assessed/prioritised by select staff teams).
Place2Talk, a lunch time drop-in service, by appointment, for 10 minutes to speak to a qualified therapist (open to all).
Place2Think, a staff support service, where the focus is the students which in turn helps the whole school to thrive.
Parent Partnership, parents and carers of young people in Place2Be schools can access free advice, resources and services as part of our mental health support for the whole school. Find out more at place2be.org/family
The service runs Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at AIM North London in the Place2Be room.
Referrals for young people can be self-made using the Place2Talk boxes located throughout the school or via pastoral teams / Safeguarding staff members.
