English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
Here at AIM North London we welcome students from over 30 countries around the world.
We help all of our ESOL students to rapidly acquire English language skills so that they can access our AIM knowledge-rich curriculum. Our ESOL students leave with the confidence to communicate in English and access a lifetime of enriching experiences and opportunities.
Our ESOL curriculum is based on the Cambridge Assessment English, helping learners to improve their speaking, writing, reading and listening skills step-by-step.
Our exams match the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. We take learners from A1 for beginners up to C2 for those who have mastered a language. This is a languages scale that is used all around Europe.
In each year group, ESOL lessons are scheduled to take place in Humanities lessons and Modern Foreign Languages lessons.

BTEC Business Level 1 Certificate
Our KS4 ESOL students also complete a Level 1 BTEC Business Certificate.
The units we cover are:
- Being organised
- Developing a personal progression plan
- Finding out about local businesses
- Organising an event
- Communicating with customers
