Music and Instrumental Lessons
We are delighted to offer a range of additional music and instrumental lessons to students, which complement our Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Music curriculum.
Whole-School Music Opportunities
Every child in year 7 takes part in our ‘Sing Up’ concert at the end of their Singing scheme of work. This is an opportunity for all children to take part in a polished and successful performance to staff, parents, and friends of the academy. All children will feel the pride and joy that comes from performing to an audience in their first year of secondary school. In year 8, the Traditional African Drumming unit culminates with students taking part in a Celebration Assembly performance to their peers and teachers, celebrating the polyrhythmic piece they have created over the 6-week scheme of work.
Additionally, students in year 8 will take part in an all-day Stomp! drop down day in the Autumn term, exploring they key ideas of rhythms and pulse and understanding how to use the body to create and develop rhythmic performances.
Instrumental Lessons
We are delighted to offer a range of bespoke and 1-1 instrumental and vocal lessons to students. Students can opt in to lessons on: Piano, Singing, Guitar, Bass Guitar and Drum Kit. Additionally, we offer small-group Steel Pan lessons.
